So, what can you do at Barefoot Landing? First, you can get in touch with nature at the Alligator Adventure. In this attraction, you’ll come face to face with incredible alligators and can learn all about these stunning creatures. In fact, Alligator Adventure is one of the largest facilities of its kind in the entire world, so it’s definitely worth the visit if only for the novelty. Not only can you come here to see alligators up close, but you can also talk to the friendly staff to learn more about the animals and their natural habitats.

What kid doesn’t love taking a fun ride on the carousel? Barefoot Landing has a massive carousel that your entire family is sure to love! Here, the carousel is an authentic representation of a Barnum & Bailey carousel, truly offering a blast from the past. Kids and adults alike will appreciate the colorful animals that have been cast from original molds, providing a unique centerpiece for Barefoot Landing. No matter how old you or your children might be, there’s something about taking a ride on a carousel that transports you back to what it means to be a kid.

If you want to add some adrenaline to your vacation, consider taking a turn on the Mountain of Youth Ropes Course. This ropes course is nearly 50 feet tall and gives you an incredible view of Barefoot Landing and the next-door LuLu’s Beach Arcade. As you make your way through the ropes course, you’ll come into contact with more than two dozen obstacles that you have to contend with. Do you think you have what it takes to make it through the entire course unscathed? Come find out for yourself! The ropes course is open every day from 1 to 9 p.m.

These activities aren’t all you can experience when you come to Barefoot Landing. You can head into the Alabama Theater to listen to some incredible live music and enjoy a one-of-a-kind performance, see how some of the best local beer is produced on a Crooked Hammock Brewery Tour, or see incredible tigers and cubs playing at the T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station. If you have smaller kids, consider bringing them to Barefoot Amusements, where there are tons of kiddie rides and family-friendly activities to enjoy.

Where to Eat and Drink

While you’re exploring all of the sites of Barefoot Landing, you’re sure to get hungry at some point! Luckily, Barefoot Landing restaurants provide a little something for every palate.

We briefly mentioned Crooked Hammock a moment ago, but it’s worth revisiting. This brewery is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and simply relax with your friends and loved ones. You can enjoy incredible craft brews and plenty of pub-inspired food for a casual and fun experience. On top of the food and drink, you can also come here to enjoy the taproom, 360-island bar, and backyard experience full of games and hammocks. It’s hard to find a more relaxing or welcoming experience in North Myrtle Beach!

If you want to go down under with your dining experience, plan a visit to Greg Norman Australian Grille. Standing out as the only Australian heritage restaurant in town, Greg Norman brings delicious flavors and unique dishes from the Outback right here to South Carolina. Not only is the food delicious, but the wine list is innovative and expansive as well, receiving the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 15 years! This restaurant is frequently ranked among the best steak and seafood spots in North Myrtle Beach, ideal for treating yourself to an indulgent night out.

Looking for a restaurant that kids and adults alike will both enjoy? Look no further than Lucy Buffett’s LuLu’s. (This is the same location where you’ll find the rope course we mentioned earlier, so you might already find yourself here!) The menu here truly offers a little bit of everything, perfect for families with picky eaters. You can find mouthwatering seafood, juicy burgers, a wide range of sandwiches, classic Southern food, and everything in between. Of course, the atmosphere is incredible as well, providing tons of fun, live music, and more.

No trip to Myrtle Beach would be complete without experiencing some fresh seafood, which is why you have to make a trip to the Flying Fish Public Market and Grill. This destination is inspired by Pike’s Place Market in Seattle and is part seafood market, part restaurant. Flying Fish dubs itself the most unique waterfront dining experience in North Myrtle Beach, and we’d be hard pressed to argue! Come experience Lowcountry favorites, a unique raw bar with sushi and shellfish options, and of course, the freshest local seafood you can find.

But the dining options don’t stop there! Transport yourself to Europe by stopping into the Café de Paris, sit down for a meal with an attitude at Dick’s Last Resort, treat yourself to dinner and some incredible music at the House of Blues, or enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine at Taco Mundo Kitchen y Cantina. Other popular dining options in Barefoot Landing include Wild Wing Cafe, Ultimate California Pizza, LandShark Bar and Grill, Blueberry’s Grill, and more.
